The Joint Board members meet two times a year to discuss Joint Board issues such as finances, personnel issues, election of officers, the laws and rules, and other OTPTAT joint issues. Each Section meets separately approximately six times a year to discuss the regulation of their respective professions. Each Section determines their own rules and interpretations. Due to confidentiality, the complexity of issues and the interpretation of the practice acts by each Section, the staff can only give limited information over the telephone. Please submit your questions in writing and please be aware of the date of the next board meeting so the information may be submitted in a timely manner.
Have you ever wondered what goes on during a Board meeting? Do you ever think that you might be able to contribute to your profession by serving as a member of the regulatory board?
The Governor is responsible for appointing all members of the Board. Members are appointed for three year terms and may serve for up to three consecutive terms. There are approximately seven meetings each year and members are reimbursed for their time and travel expenses.
To be eligible to serve on the Board, a licensee must hold a current Ohio license and have been actively engaged in the practice, in Ohio, for at leave five years immediately preceding the appointment.
