New requirement!
In an effort to recognize the impact that mental health and addiction are having on the lives of all healthcare professionals, the AT Section has added a new continuing education requirement to support these licensees’ efforts to combat burnout and promote wellness for themselves, their patients, and the world around them. The overall number of continuing education hours has not changed, but at least one hour must be devoted to mental health and addiction topics generally. The requirement is not meant to be prescriptive, and licensees should seek specific hours that will be most helpful to them personally and to their practice. For ATs, the requirement is 25 hours over the licensure period, October 1, 2022-September 30, 2024. One hour must be ethics, and a second hour for mental health and addiction.
Any presentation related to the OTPTAT Board’s Safe Haven program counts toward this requirement. You can access one free hour of CE on-demand by clicking on the OTPTAT training link at https://www.ohiophp.org/continuingeducation. Once registered, you must use the passcode FL5j?+Ea to access the training.
